Best SPA ever

Best Spa ever

Always wanted to go to a SPA but just couldn't afford it. That is until we found the Danubius Thermal Hotel Margitsziget on Margaret Island. We travel often and we are always looking for a bargain. This is more than a bargain. Round trip from New York, 21 nights, 2 meals per day (breakfast and lunch or dinner) and 15 SPA treatments per week, and they also pick you up at the airport. Now the price, first it depends on when you go, but it is between $2200 -2900 per person. Now read that again, flight, food, hotel and treatments. Did I mention that the hotel is a 4/5 star. It was fantastic. The hotel is on Margit Island on the Danube, between Buda and Pest. You are about 10-15 minutes by bus from downtown Pest. We have been there twice the last being this year 2007 and it was fantastic. Upon arrival you see a Doctor, and she sets up a schedule of what treatments you will be receiving, like massages, mud treatments, etc. This is a health SPA so besides the treatments you have an indoor and outdoor pool, a hot mineral pool, Jacuzzi, workout room, and sauna, all of which is available anytime you want to use it. We did not want any treatments on Wednesday and Saturday's and these were out tour days. The bus is about 10 yards from the hotel and will take you right into town. We bought the bus/train/tram/trolley pass and was able to navigate our way around with little or no problem. The room, with balcony, refrigerator, safe, was fairly good size and maid service every day. The food, excellent, sometimes they had as many as 7 entrees, always salad, deserts and fresh fruit. Prices for wine at he hotel for dinner was more than reasonable. Overall a great trip and would recommend it for anyone. Buda and Pest are two great cities that have a lot to offer, museum, churches, restaurants, and parks, everything you could imagine. Margaret Island is well maintained and has a track that you can walk all around the island with the Danube at your side.

Also, the tier structure has been expanded to four levels with the addition of a top-level diamond tier.

This is for customers who have taken at least 15 voyages or sailed for at least 150 days.

They get extras such as free internet access, a free lunch in the exclusive Todd English restaurants and priority luggage delivery.

World Club entry level is the silver tier, reached after one voyage. Other levels are gold and platinum.

Nice little memento

Take a Caribbean cruise between now and next April and you could end up with a free diamond necklace. Italy's Costa Cruises is marking its 60th birthday by giving away one six-stone necklace on each cruise from Fort Lauderdale in Florida.

Worth $US1000 ($1084) each, they will be presented during the final-night Roman Bacchanal party of each week-long sailing aboard the liners Costa Fortuna and Costa Mediterranea.

Winners will be chosen at random by cabin number.

Five of the best head for Australia

Vessels from five of the highest-rating cruise lines in the world will be in Australian waters this summer.

A poll of cruise passengers by the US magazine Conde Nast Traveler shows Crystal Cruises to be No. 1 in the large-ship (more than 500 passengers) category, followed by Regent Seven Seas, Disney Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Celebrity Cruises.

Ships from all except Disney will visit Australia in coming months. Silversea Cruises, one of the top-rating lines in the small-ship (under 500 passengers) category will also have a vessel here.

Because Americans make up about 80 per cent of the world's cruise passengers, their views are generally taken as the benchmark for cruise-line rankings.
