Budapest spa hotels: Thermal Hotel Margitsziget

Location: Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget is situated on Budapest's Margitsziget (Margaret Island), adjacent to Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget, connected to it by a heated underground corridor. Services of both hotels are at our guests' disposal. Margaret Island was originally three separate islands that were joined together in the last century. The island, which stretches for 4 kilometers, is protected leafy botanical parkland with ancient trees, a Japanese Garden, a Rose Garden, an open-air amphitheatre, walking and jogging tracks. The island is car-free (hotel guests can enter the island), peaceful and perfectly placed in the middle of the city, between Pest and Buda, on the River Danube. Bicycles, horses, carts and electric buggies can be hired to help you get around.

Accommodation: All rooms have a balcony overlooking either the Danube or Margaret Island, air-conditioning, color satellite TV, in-room safe, mini bar, hairdryer, free bathrobe use, 220 V electric current. High-speed, broadband, wireless Internet access (WiFi) is available in some of the rooms. Non-smoking rooms, rooms for the disabled and connecting rooms are available. In 2001 the spa department was completely renovated and enlarged with a new look and design. Now, not only are we able to offer treatments for locomotive disorders, circulation problems and convalescent therapies, but many other treatments to promote health, relaxation and general well being. The natural medicinal water and the serenity of the island setting are the key focus of our healing centre.

Medical Examination Prior to a prescription of treatments, guests are requested to meet with one of our experienced doctors, who will specifically design the correct course of treatments. Balneo and Hydrotherapy: It is effective in the treatment of muscular/joint problems, arthritis, circulatory disorders and rehabilitation. Also it is excellent for general relaxation and to give a feeling of well being. (Facilities include; underwater jet massage, galvanic bath, four cell bath, carbon bath, traction bath thermal pools, sauna, aroma cabin). Mud packing: The mud, which is specially brought up from Héviz in a dry form and cooled with natural thermal water, is effective in the treatment of arthritis, muscular/joint problems and circulation. Physiotherapy/Medical Gymnastics/Electrotherapy A fully equipped physiotherapy department, with experienced physiotherapists who are able to offer both one on one, or group sessions. Ultrasound, infra red, and other treatments are available to assist in the recovery process. For asthma and other complaints we are able to offer, oxygen and inhalation therapies.

Massage: A wide range of massages, ranging from traditional massages, Swedish or Thai.
Other: Traditional Hungarian manicures and pedicures. Reflexology Cardio Centrum A fully equipped cardiology clinic is able to offer full cardio examinations including ECG, stress examinations, cardiac echo, stress echo, diet advice and consultations. Special Packages are also available, including a manager's checkup and special rates for residents over the age of 60. Vital Centre: State of the Art dental clinic. General check ups, surgical prosthetic treatments and implantation. Aura International: Fully equipped cosmetic surgery. Consultations or facial and body surgery are available.

Focus Medical: Laser eye clinic. Eye examinations and opticians are available.
Hypoxitrainer: A safe way to loose fat and beat cellulite from problematic areas of the body. Throughout Europe the Hypoxitrainer is becoming more and more popular. After an initial consultation, the treatment on a bike, in low pressure is prescribed.
